DT Party Guidelines

New Guidelines for the 2026 Season!

Available Dates & Restrictions

  • Parties may be scheduled at any time except during peak hours in June and July. During those months, no parties will be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • No parties during pool social events, major holidays or holiday weekends, and home swim meets (some Monday evenings and Saturday mornings).
  • Review the summer calendar before booking at: https://dtpool.com/events/
  • Conflicting requests will be rescheduled.
  • The Social Chair and Board have final approval over reservations.

Party Guidelines and Use of Space

  • Parties are limited to 3 hours including set-up and clean-up. Hosts may stay afterward but must vacate the reserved area.
  • Maximum of 20 non-member guests, including non-swimmers. Parties are limited to 20 non-member guests to ensure proper lifeguard coverage and a comfortable pool capacity. Members of Dowden Terrace Pool do not count toward your guest total. Parties above that limit need approval from the DT Board. The Board reserves the right to refuse any party requests.
  • Host must provide an attendee list to the social chair at least one week before the party.
  • Each party must designate a responsible point of contact who is accountable for the group and checks in with the Head Lifeguard upon arrival.
  • The designated contact must address and attempt to resolve any issues with the Head Lifeguard; the Head Lifeguard will have a Board member contact number for escalation, if needed.
  • All non-member party attendees must wear wristbands for easy identification (provided by Head Lifeguard to party’s main point of contact).
  • Hosts must provide all party supplies, including paper products, utensils, cups, napkins, table coverings, serving items, food and beverages, and decorations.
  • Hosts handle all set-up, clean-up, and trash removal. No glitter, confetti, or glass of any kind is allowed at the pool.
  • Deep-end use requires passing the Guard’s swim test (tread water 60 seconds; swim one length of the pool without stopping or assistance). One group test per party is available if scheduled with the Guards in advance.
  • A signed waiver is required for all guests
